When we asked Klaire also known as Karolyn Klaire to sit down with us we had no idea the trauma she had recently been through, resulting in a near death experience that landed her in hospital where she had to have an emergency operation weeks before our interview.
Known for being one of Tanzania’s most influential women in the lifestyle and the entertainment industry Klaire describes herself as a Visualist- a professional with a vision and a creative eye. Karolyn is a managing and creative director, producer and entrepreneur who is passionate about the creative arts.
Despite once having an extensive modeling career Klaire admitted to us that she has always preferred a life behind the scenes, she enjoys managing artists like DJ Joozey, and creatively managing and directing events by Str8up Vibes and building initiatives and community festivals like the Zanzibar food festival.
Taking the creative lead behind the scenes had been her safe space …until she began her healing journey in early July recovering from life treating surgery. While Klaire did share the details of her medical emergency, we want to protect her privacy and allow her to disclose the details of her hospitalisation at her own time.
Lying in a hospital bed temporarily paralyzed by the pain she remembers crying out to God in her spirit “No! I have not completed my assignment on Earth yet!” just before doctors put her under anesthesia.
Days after receiving her diagnosis and being sent home to recover Klaire not only found herself having a new found sense of faith but also an unexplored passion in singing and songwriting.
Ever since recovering from surgery, Klaire has had a tune on her mind and has been jotting down lyrics in between conducting her other professional and personal roles.
We are excited, because it means new music and a new Tanzanian sound is in our midst. Karolyn Klaire is set to release her EP early to mid 2024, under her stage name Karamella and we are here for it! Karamella describes her sound as “electric and eclectic”.
We can’t wait and we are so excited for Karamella on her journey to being in the spotlight showcasing her God given gift of music!
In other good news we are thrilled to announce that Karolyn Klaire has been appointed the Vice Chair of Events at the renowned Women In Music organization, the Tanzanian chapter. This is a momentous achievement that’s creating ripples of excitement within the global music community. It’s such a vibe!
