Johnnie Walker Hosts Tanzania’s 3rd Women & Whisky Event

Happy New Year Gazzetea Fam!

Two weeks deep into 2024 and we found ourselves vibing in floral prints at Serena Hotel among other women, raising a toast to all the hope that the new year brings.  Johnnie Walker Tanzania welcomed us to their 3rd Women & Whisky Affair on January 14th. The  event unfolded not only as a celebration of the ‘Spirit of Togetherness’ but, more importantly, as a champion of the power of vision.

Irene Mutiganzi welcomed us and shared the value of new beginnings, what they look like to her and how resilience can be conquered in the face of adversity. Her encouragement and personal anecdotes set the tone for transformation in the room that Sunday morning.

The event, moderated by Gracie Mals began with renowned artist and owner Rangi Arts Gallery Lorna Mashimba guiding us  through the creation of personalized vision boards. Lorna skillfully articulated the nuances of a life map, breaking it down into different segments, such as: home, family, faith, finances and fitness. It wasn’t just about pretty pictures; it was about flexing empowerment through creating an intentional vision for the year.

Fueled by Lorna’s practical wisdom, we found ourselves expanding our dreams, pushing past the setbacks of 2023.  As we connected over brunch bites we were handed our vision board tools, which included: a board to paste our vision, countless magazines, stickers, glitter and the like.

Warda Kimaro, a beacon of expertise in personal branding then took the stage next, to share: insights, tips, and tricks on cultivating the best versions of oneself.

“Google yourself.” Warda challenged us, so we grabbed our phones and rushed to type in our names. A barrage of:  instagram accounts, articles, blog posts and  linkedin profiles popped up on various screens. For some, the search results  were random, for others they were accurate. As we peered at one another’s phones and shared our results Warda interjected with “… AND THAT IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL BRAND.”- The session was a masterclass in building confidence and projecting individuality in a world that celebrates diverse narratives.

As most of us were dining on our last morsels of buffet delicacies and the rest of us were flicking through the  pages of magazines, the atmosphere continued to resonate with inspiration as Gracie Mals, the current Johnnie Walker Tanzania Black Label female influencer, led informal talks around the theme of new beginnings. Her statements echoed the spirit of starting afresh as she ventured around the room with the mic welcoming each of us to take part.

Amidst the conversation Tracy Joy Humplink was awarded for her dedication and commitment towards the Johnnie Walker brand by her team as they celebrated  her integral contribution. She was presented with a Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve Label as an appreciation gift before her departure to embark on a new career opportunity.

Finally, in a gesture of paying it forward, all invited guests were given the opportunity to nominate other remarkable women who will be invited to the upcoming 2024 Women & Whisky Affair, extending the ripple effect of female empowerment.

In the spirit of shared stories, laughter, and empowerment, Johnnie Walker Tanzania’s 3rd Women & Whisky Affair left an indelible mark and at Gazzetea we would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the teams and individuals that made this event  possible!

At Gazzetea we are casting a vision for growth, not just for us but more so for each and everyone of you too! In 2024 we hope you pave the way for yourself, those coming after you and those beside you towards a brighter future!

Be sure to leave a comment about what you think about vision boards, your goals for 2024 and what you think about the event.

Cheers & Happy New Year!

Love Gazzetea.
