Drinks, food, art, bubbly, games, and wholesome conversations. These are just a few words to describe Gazzetea’s Sister Circle event that took place on July 30 th , at Woodberry Café. In collaboration with Bloom, the event featured 5 panelists from different professional and creative backgrounds to discuss mental health, success and the ups and downs of hustle culture. Among the panelists were Aishi Mengi, food photographer and stylist, Karolyn Klaire, CEO, Creative Director, Marketing and Talent Manager, Iman R Khatib, Program Development Professional, Maryam Yusuf Zialor, Managing Director at Sno Cream, Woodberry Café and Garden Market, and moderator Annie Ljungvist, psychologist.

After popping a few bottles and connecting with each other, the ladies cozied up on chairs and threw pillows on the floor. The dress code for the event was pyjamas, or anything that made you feel the most comfortable. The panelists introduced themselves and talked about their work, their journey to get to where they are, and the challenges that they faced along the way.

The evening wrapped up with some questions from the audience followed by more drinks, photos and games. Gazzetea is proud to have been able to provide a safe space for women to talk about the good and toxic notions behind hustle culture. Several of some artists’ work was displayed around the venue which elevated the creative vibe for the event. Gazzetea looks forward to hosting another successful Sister Circle event in hopes to create a community of women going through similar walks in life. We thank and appreciate everybody’s participation, attendance and support for the event. Here’s to many more.
